Cycling prevents lack of movement, ensures fresh air and is altogether enormously valuable for body, soul and well-being. Since 2007, many employees have been taking part in the “Cycle to work” campaign. In the first year, 335 participants cycled a total of 114,517 km. In 2019, a total of 627 participants then cycled to work over 525,000 km. The evaluation for 2020 will take place after the end of the campaign, which will run until the end of September. The restart for 2021 is again on April 1. Last year, the number of active participants decreased slightly. There were 469 active bikers who covered 227,054 km. However, considering that over the entire cycling season a large proportion of employees worked from home and thus naturally had no opportunity to cycle to work, we can definitely speak of a strong result in 2020 as well.
A new feature in 2020 was that the “Cycle to Work” campaign was part of the “Health Diversity” challenge. All participants who used their bikes for at least 15 days to get to work and back home could get one point credited in the Health Bonus Program.
According to our goal of putting the health factor in the focus and motivating as many employees as possible to cycle to work, we are calling for safety-conscious and prudent cycling.
